The opportunity:
The Admissions Manager is responsible for leading the admissions strategy and operations across all campuses and programme deliveries.
A critical aspect of the role is ensuring that all admissions activities align with regulatory requirements, the university admissions requirements and support the maintenance of the institution’s licenses in a highly regulated education sector
This role plays a pivotal part in delivering a timely, student-focused, and fully compliant admissions function while contributing to the school’s growth, international outreach, and academic excellence.
This role reports directly to the Vice President (Academics) with indirect stakeholder lines of contact to central operations teams supporting the Admissions processes and technology in the GUS group.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Support the Presidium, University Senate and other organs of the University in setting the University admissions requirements and any ancillary requirements or processes
- Develop and execute Gisma’s admissions strategy in alignment with enrolment targets, academic standards, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, academic teams, and marketing to identify trends, support programme development, and drive recruitment strategies.
- Monitor admissions KPIs, pipeline metrics, and conversion data, providing regular reporting and recommendations.
- Be part of the University Admissions Committee monitoring the implementation of the admissions requirements, decision-making and related processes
- Support the wider group in establishing best practice operational procedures and workflows
- Oversee and continuously improve end-to-end admissions processes — from application submission and interview scheduling to offer issuance and enrolment confirmations
- Ensure consistent and fair application assessments, with a focus on academic suitability, English language proficiency, and regulatory compliance
- Lead on complex or non-standard cases, including applicants from sanctioned countries or with alternative qualifications
- Ensure any exceptional cases are consulted with and/or approved by an appropriate academic member of the University admissions committee
- Lead, support, and develop a high-performing, international admissions team in multiple locations across the globe
- Organise workflow, set priorities, and ensure service-level standards are met across all programmes and locations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure admissions practices are fully compliant with all relevant institutional policies, local and international regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, visa and immigration rules, and university as well as any relevant partner requirements.
Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison with academic programme leads, university partners, and compliance teams regarding admissions-related matters.
- Provide training and support to sales and academic colleagues on admissions procedures and requirements.
- Represent GISMA at external meetings, audits, or institutional reviews related to admissions.
